A native of St. Catharines, Sarah went to the University of Western Ontario where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and History before making the move to Mississauga and attending Humber College where she graduated with full honours in the post graduate Public Administration program.
Sarah worked in the public sector before moving into the non-profit, education and finally health care sectors. After being diagnosed with lupus and osteonecrosis (bone death), Sarah decided to dedicate her focus, skills and experience on efforts to share her story, educate others about health issues and patient's rights. Sarah has spent the past decade studying cannabis plant sciences and chemistry.
In her spare time, Sarah can be found devouring books, knitting or spending time with her husband, Gavin and the joy of her life, her son Alastair.
With years of experience in social media, community outreach/ relations and media relations, Sarah provides unique insight into living life with a life threatening chronic illness. Sarah believes in living life to the fullest. 'Go big or go home' is a favourite mantra of hers and one she lives in her daily life.
Sarah is a passionate and engaging speaker on life with a chronic illness, patient's rights and medical cannabis. She is an advocate for patient's rights and access to medical services in the community.
